About the Event
The collection of data for official statistics, which before the COVID-19 pandemic was predominantly carried out in person, had to adapt to the dynamics imposed by the current social distancing. In this webinar the methodological challenges and the solutions found to give continuity to this work will be discussed. The event, co-organized by the Regional Center for Studies for the Development of the Information Society (Cetic.br) of the Information and Coordination Center of Ponto BR (NIC.br) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), will take place next Thursday, October 15, at 2:00 p.m. (GMT - 3). The webinar "Data, innovation and statistical production during the COVID-19 pandemic" will be broadcast live on the NIC.br YouTube channel and will have simultaneous translation into Spanish and Portuguese: https://www.youtube.com / NICbrvideos .
The event is part of the cycle of conferences of the Knowledge Transmission Network of the Statistical Conference of the Americas. With the participation of directors and heads of Departments of the National Statistical Institutes of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico, the meeting will have two panels: “Data innovation in statistical production on digitization and its role in relation to to COVID-19 ”and“ The impact of the pandemic on statistical production, new methods and processes ”.
